这个五一，一名陕西货郎在湖北咸丰被诊断为脑梗，一场跨越全城的爱心接力随即上演，8000余斤苹果19小时内售罄。
During the May Day holiday, a fruit vendor from Shaanxi was diagnosed with cerebral infarction in Xianfeng, Hubei Province. A city-wide relay of kindness soon ensued, and over 8,000 jin (about 4 metric tons) of apples were sold out within 19 hours.

5月1日上午，陕西商贩吉耀仲驾车运送8100余斤苹果前往湖北咸丰售卖。高速上，他突然右手无力、言语不畅，不久后身体状况缓解。他惦记着车上的苹果，便继续驱车前往咸丰。5月2日，吉耀仲抵达咸丰。当天下午4时许，他病情加重，方前往咸丰县中医医院急诊科检查，被确诊为脑梗。医生强烈建议其住院，可他满心牵挂着一车苹果，迟迟不愿入院。当晚11时许，经家人反复劝说，他才办理了住院手续。医院全力抢救后，他转危为安。
On the morning of May 1st, Ji Yaozhong, a vendor from Shaanxi Province, drove a truck loaded with more than 8,100 jin of apples to Xianfeng, Hubei, for sale. While traveling on the expressway, he suddenly felt weakness in his right hand and had slurred speech. His symptoms eased slightly soon afterward, but concerned about the produce on his truck, he insisted on driving onward to Xianfeng. He reached Xianfeng on May 2. At about 4 p.m. the same day, his condition worsened. He rushed to the Emergency Department of Xianfeng County Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine for examination and was diagnosed with cerebral infarction. Although doctors strongly recommended hospitalization, he was hesitant, anxious about his apples. Finally, at around 11 p.m., after repeated persuasion from his family, he agreed to be hospitalized. Thanks to the hospital's timely treatment, his condition was stabilized.
5月3日，其妻子梁丽丽闻讯后赶到咸丰，寸步不离守在病床前。那一车8000多斤的苹果，仍静静摆放在车上。天气渐热，一旦烂掉，这个本就不易的家，日子会更难。咸丰县中医医院医护人员了解情况后，决定伸出援手。5月4日下午2时许，一份爱心倡议书在咸丰县中医医院职工群发出：“患者随车有4吨苹果，原计划拖到咸丰售卖，如今因病无法自行售卖……”倡议书注明，苹果5元一斤，购买地点在医院宗气楼门前。
On May 3rd, Liang Lili, the wife of Ji Yaozhong, rushed to Xianfeng upon learning of the incident and kept a constant vigil at Ji’s bedside. The more than 8,000 jin of apples were still left on the truck. With temperatures rising, the apples would soon spoil, a hit the already struggling family could not afford. At the same time, the hospital was organizing ways to help them. At around 2 p.m. on May 4, a charity appeal was posted in the hospital’s staff WeChat group. It noted that a family had transported 4 tons of apples to Xianfeng for sale, yet he was unable to sell them due to his sudden illness. The apples were priced at 5 yuan per 500 grams, available for purchase at the gate of the hospital’s Zongqi Building.
爱心如滚雪球，越滚越大。咸丰的网红达人、志愿者协会、外卖小哥团队等纷纷响应，络绎不绝地赶来购买苹果。大家自行称重、主动付钱，不少人还主动帮忙搬运、售卖。有市民甚至专门买下品相稍差的苹果，减少损耗。医护人员给梁丽丽送来牛奶、麻花、鸡蛋，还执意为她买来盒饭，叮嘱她照顾好自己才能更好地照料病人。
This simple act of kindness would soon snowball into something bigger. Social media influencers, volunteer associations, food-delivery riders and others from Xianfeng bought the apples in a constant stream. Customers weighed the apples themselves and paid voluntarily, with many taking the initiative with transporting and selling. Some even specifically bought apples with minor blemishes to reduce losses. Medical staff brought Liang Lili milk, deep-fried dough twists, eggs, and boxed meals, reminding her to take care of herself so that she could better care for her husband."
这场爱心接力效率惊人。5月5日上午9时许，8000余斤苹果全部卖完。
The efficiency of this heartfelt relay of kindness was astonishing. By 9 a.m. on May 5th, all 8,000 jin of apples were completely sold out.
“万万没想到，会卖得这么快。”梁丽丽感慨，“医护人员救了我丈夫的命，全城好心人又帮我们挽回了数万元损失。在这里举目无亲，我却真切感受到了家人般的温暖。”
“I never expected that they would sell out so quickly.” Liang Lili exclaimed. “The medical staff saved my husband and kind strangers across the city helped us avoid tens of thousands in losses. Although I have no relatives here, I truly felt the warmth of family.”
