7年扛2000多瓶煤气罐，长阳70多位老人墙上有同一个号码，“有事就打，他是我们身边的雷锋。”

今年3月5日，是第63个“学雷锋纪念日”。在湖北长阳土家族自治县都镇湾镇高桥村，51岁的邓士刚被村里的老人称为“活雷锋”。哪怕是不识字的婆婆，也要让孙子抄下他的手机号码贴在墙上，碰到难处时一个电话拨过去，“雷锋”就来了。
March 5 this year marks the 63rd Lei Feng Memorial Day. In Gaoqiao Village, Duzhengwan Town, Changyang Tujia Autonomous County in Hubei Province, 51-year-old Deng Shigang is affectionately known among local seniors as a “living Lei Feng.” Even elderly women who cannot read ask their grandchildren to note Deng’s phone number, which they then plaster to their wall—a lifeline for seniors when in need with “Lei Feng” simply a call away.

从照顾7位长辈到服务70多名老人
From Caring for Seven to Serving a Village of Seventy
邓士刚的“雷锋之路”始于2019年。那时他还在清江上游的水布垭电站工作，家中的父母、叔伯、岳母等7位老人年迈无人照料。特别是母亲那年接连住了四次院，他一次次请假往返，渐渐感到难以兼顾。他咬牙辞掉干了13年的工作：“电站少我一个能转，但家里老人不能没有我。”
Deng’s journey emulating the altruistic Lei Feng spirit began in 2019. At the time, he was working at the Shuibuya Hydropower Station on the upper reaches of the Qingjiang River. Within his family, seven elderly relatives—including his parents, uncles, and mother-in-law—needed care, yet no one was available to look after them. That year, his mother was hospitalized four times. Deng repeatedly took leave and traveled back and forth, gradually realizing that he could no longer balance work and family responsibilities. Eventually, he made the difficult decision to quit the job he had held for 13 years. “The power station can run without me,” he said, “but my elderly family members cannot.”
回村后，邓士刚骑着摩托车转了一圈，见到的都是和自家长辈差不多的老人。他们的子女大多在外务工，头疼脑热、需要搭把手时，常常孤立无援。一组村民胡兴勇少年时右腿落下残疾，邓士刚便隔三差五上门帮他扛米、送化肥，顺手劈柴、修理家电。临走总不忘叮嘱一句：“有事随时打我电话。”
After returning to the village, Deng rode around on his motorcycle and noticed that most of the people he encountered were elderly villagers much like his own relatives. Many were empty nesters whose children worked in cities, leaving them alone when they fell ill or needed help. One villager, Hu Xingyong, had been disabled in his right leg since childhood. Deng often visited him to bring him rice, deliver fertilizer, chop firewood, and repair household appliances. Before leaving, he would always remind him, “Call me anytime if you need help.”
渐渐地，他从照料自家7位长辈，变成了全村70多名老人的勤务员。谁家出门不便，他顺路捎一程；谁要买药、缴电费，他代跑代办；谁家电线老化，他上门更换。
Gradually, Deng’s role expanded from caring for seven elderly relatives to serving more than 70 elderly villagers in the community. If someone had mobility issues, he would offer them a ride. If they needed to purchase medication or pay electricity bills, he would run errands for them. If the electrical wiring in a resident’s home became old and unsafe, he would replace it himself.
七年换送液化气2000多瓶
Delivering Over 2,000 LPG Cylinders for Seniors in Seven Years
邓士刚买了一辆农用三轮车，用于拖运粮食、化肥。村支书吕海艳找到他，说移民安置点住着二十多户老人，到集镇上换瓶装液化气很不方便，问他能不能帮个忙。邓士刚二话没说应下了。
Deng later bought an agricultural three-wheeler to transport grain and fertilizer. One day, Lv Haiyan, secretary of the village Party branch, approached him and explained that more than 20 elderly households living in a nearby resettlement area found it extremely inconvenient to travel to the town to replace their liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) cylinders. When she asked whether he could help, Deng agreed without hesitation.
从村里到镇上，绕一大圈山路，往返一趟两个多小时。他一家家收集空瓶，换回液化气后又一家家装好、试火。老人们拉着他的手连声道谢：“要不是你，我们老胳膊老腿要折腾大半天。” 邓士刚心酸地想起以前自己不在家时，父母也是这样求乡邻帮忙。他给吕海艳打电话：“书记，以后村里老人要换液化气，都来找我。”
The journey from the village to the town requires a long detour along winding mountain roads, taking more than two hours for a round trip. Deng goes door to door collecting empty cylinders, brings back full ones, installs them, and tests the gas stoves for each household. Grateful seniors often hold his hands and say, “Without you, this would take us ages with these old bones of ours.” These words reminded Deng of how his own parents once had to rely on neighbors for help when he was away from home. He called Secretary Lv and said, “From now on, whenever senior residents in the village need their gas cylinders replaced, they can come to me.”
从那以后，全村70余名老人，只要一个电话，他便开着三轮车爬坡过坎，将气瓶送到家、安装好、试好火，还顺手检查灶具电路。镇上液化气站的曹老板得知原委后，每瓶气专门优惠20元，以补贴油费。
Since then, whenever any of the village’s more than 70 elderly residents make a phone call, Deng traverses the hilly terrains in his three-wheeler to deliver LPG cylinders right to their homes. He installs them, tests the burners, and even inspects the stoves and wiring along the way. After learning about Deng’s dedication, Mr. Cao, owner of the town’s LPG station, began offering a 20-yuan discount on each cylinder to help cover his fuel costs.
吕海艳估算，7年来，邓士刚累计为老人换送气2000多瓶，检修1000多次，义务服务从未中断。
According to Lv Haiyan, over the past seven years Deng has delivered and replaced more than 2,000 LPG cylinders for elderly villagers and completed over 1,000 safety inspections, never once relenting in his voluntary service.
“老人们需要我，我感到很快乐”

极目新闻记者在高桥村看到，老人家的墙上都贴着邓士刚的号码。一个冬夜，电路跳闸，李婆婆打通电话，20分钟内他就到了。
When reporters from Jimu News visited Gaoqiao Village, they noticed Deng’s phone number taped on the walls of many elderly residents’ homes. One winter night, when the electricity suddenly tripped at Grandma Li’s house, she called Deng, and he arrived within 20 minutes.
“有事就打，他是我们身边的雷锋。”乡亲们这样评价他。
“Just call him whenever you need help—he is the Lei Feng among us,” villagers say.
邓士刚说，每次听到老人们远远地打招呼“刚哥来了”，他就觉得被需要，心里很快乐。
Deng said that whenever he hears elderly villagers greeting him from afar— “Brother Gang, you’re here!”—he feels a strong sense of purpose, which brings him great happiness.
2023年，峡洞岩大桥通车，村委会将桥头卫生、片区水电的公益性岗位交给他。按规定，管水员可向每户用水村民收取100元管理费，但他坚持只让大家分摊500元的材料费：“乡里乡亲的，够修管子就行。”
In 2023, the Xiadongyan Bridge was opened to traffic. The village committee assigned Deng public welfare duties, including sanitation near the bridge and maintenance of local water and electricity systems. According to regulations, a water administrator is allowed to charge each household 100 yuan as a management fee, but Deng insisted that villagers only share the 500-yuan cost of materials. “We’re all neighbors,” he said. “As long as the pipes can be repaired, that’s enough.”
如今，大桥让高桥村到集镇的距离缩短至20分钟，邓士刚的农用三轮车仍在清江两岸“突突突”奔走。而在“雷锋”身后，随行者越来越多——村里成立了20多人的“爱心服务”专车，村“两委”、驻村工作队、志愿者轮流当司机，免费接送65岁以上老人，帮他们缴费、代购药品。截至目前，“爱心服务”专车已行驶96趟，服务老人380余人次，为村民节约开支近2万元。
Today, the bridge has shortened the travel time from Gaoqiao Village to the town to just 20 minutes. Deng’s agricultural tricycle can still be heard rumbling along both sides of the Qingjiang River. Meanwhile, more villagers have been inspired by his example. The village has established a volunteer “Caring Service” vehicle team with more than 20 members. Cadres from the village committees, members of the village work team, and volunteers take turns driving, providing free transportation for residents aged 65 and above and helping them pay bills or purchase medicine. So far, the volunteer vehicles have completed 96 trips, served more than 380 elderly residents, and saved villagers nearly 20,000 yuan in expenses.
