楚天都市报极目新闻讯（记者刘俊华 通讯员陈茂义）榫卯咬合，雕刀起落。在湖北宜昌市伍家岗区“华贵木雕”工坊内，一件件精雕细琢的中式家具错落陈列，省级非遗“宜昌木雕”在这里活态传承。近日，一则喜讯在当地非遗圈传开：23岁00后海归姑娘王俙茗学成归国，正式接过家族技艺接力棒，成为宜昌木雕第五代传承人。

Inside the “Huagui Wood Carving” workshop in Yichang’s Wujiagang District, amidst an eclectic display of exquisitely crafted Chinese-style furniture, the provincial intangible cultural heritage of “Yichang Wood Carving” remains a living craft. Recently, exciting news has spread among local intangible cultural heritage enthusiasts: 23-year-old overseas graduate Wang Ximing, has officially taken the baton of the family craft, becoming the fifth-generation inheritor of Yichang Wood Carving.

春节期间，极目新闻记者走进工坊产品陈列厅，花鸟鱼虫、龙凤呈祥等纹样跃然木上，传统中式美学扑面而来。一款老式雕花嫁妆樟木箱，凭借精湛工艺与美好寓意，标价8800元仍备受追捧，成为不少新人青睐的陪嫁佳品。
During the Spring Festival, reporters from Jimu News walked into the workshop’s showroom. Motifs of flora, fauna, and auspicious dragons and phoenixes vividly wrap the wood, all showcasing striking traditional Chinese aesthetics. A vintage carved camphor wood dowry chest, with its exquisite craftsmanship and auspicious symbolism, remains highly sought after even with an 8,800 yuan price tag, and is now a top dowry gift for many new couples.
作为省级非遗代表性传承企业，“华贵木雕” 承载着宜昌木雕的厚重文脉。宜昌林木资源丰富，为木雕提供天然原料。这项纯手工技艺历经起草图、凿粗坯、细雕刻三大环节，涵盖数十道工序，是当地 “九佬十八匠” 传统手工业的典型代表，《宜昌府志》《夷陵州志》等多部地方志均有记载。
As a provincial-level representative enterprise of intangible cultural heritage, “Huagui Wood Carving” embodies the rich cultural legacy of Yichang wood carving. The region’s abundant forest resources provide the natural materials essential to this craft. A purely manual art, Yichang wood carving involves three main stages—sketching, rough carving, and fine carving—comprising dozens of intricate steps. It stands as a quintessential example of the local “Nine Trades and Eighteen Crafts” (jiu lao shi ba jiang), a traditional handicraft system documented in historical records such as the Annals of Yichang Prefecture and the Annals of Yiling Prefecture.
工坊主理人王志华介绍，家族师承脉络清晰：岳父向昌金是第三代传人，他与妻子向桂香为第四代传承人。工坊内9名市级非遗工匠坚守初心，全程恪守传统榫卯工艺，除必要金属饰件外，全程不使用一颗钉子。如今工坊年产值达2000万元，客单均价近100万元，订单已排到2027 年，非遗技艺真正实现 “叫好又叫座”。
Workshop director Wang Zhihua traces his family’s clear lineage in the craft: his father-in-law, Xiang Changjin, is a third-generation inheritor, while Wang and his wife, Xiang Guixiang, represent the fourth generation. The workshop employs nine municipal-level inheritors of this intangible heritage, all committed to preserving traditional woodworking that employs mortise-and-tenon joinery. Apart from essential metal fittings, no nails are used in the entire process. Today, the workshop generates an annual output value of 20 million yuan, with an average order value of nearly 1 million yuan. Orders have already been scheduled through 2027, a testament to this traditional craft’s critical acclaim and commercial success.
更令人欣喜的是，传承后继有人。王志华的女儿王俙茗，是一名从英国留学归来的00后，主修时尚管理与统计金融。自幼耳濡目染，她对祖传木雕技艺满怀热爱，留学期间更深刻感受到传统工艺与国际时尚的审美共通。归国后投身工坊，以年轻视角守护非遗根脉。王俙茗告诉极目新闻记者，她将在吃透传统技艺精髓的基础上，发挥专业所长，让宜昌木雕既守住匠心本味，又接轨年轻审美，希望有天也能走向国际舞台。
Even more encouraging is that this treasured craft has qualified successors. Wang Ximing, daughter of Wang Zhihua, is a recently graduated Gen-Z who studied Fashion Management and Statistical Finance in the UK. Inspired by her family since childhood, she has a deep passion for the ancestral wood carving craft. During her studies abroad, she gained a profound understanding of the shared aesthetics between traditional crafts and international fashion. After returning to China, she joined the family workshop, dedicated to preserving this intangible cultural heritage with a youthful flair. Wang Ximing told a reporter from Jimu News that her goal is to first fully master the essence of the traditional craftsmanship, and then leverage her professional expertise to ensure that Yichang Wood Carving preserves its authentic artisan spirit while aligning with modern aesthetics. She hopes that it will one day shine on an international stage.
从三代坚守、四代深耕，到00后海归新生代接棒，宜昌木雕历经五代薪火相传。一把雕刀、一段良木、一份坚守，老手艺在青春力量的加持下，正绽放异彩。
From the dedication of three generations and the nurturing of four generations, to now its continuation by the younger post-00s generation, the craft of Yichang Wood Carving has been passed down through five generations. With a carving knife, a piece of fine wood, and a heart of perseverance, this time-honored craft is still blooming with renewed vigor fueled by youthful energy.
