As the new round of rainy and cold weather hits, down jackets are back in the spotlight. Many netizens have experienced overwhelming “down jacket sticker shock, ” stating “It’s literally impossible to find a decent down jacket for under 1, 000 yuan.”

千元以下是否还能买到优质羽绒服？近日，极目新闻记者走进被誉为“中国服装制造名城”的湖北省汉川市，深入多家羽绒服生产企业的车间，探访一件羽绒服从原料到成衣的全过程，多家羽绒服生产企业的负责人告诉记者，1000元内不仅能买到优质羽绒服，选择还很多。

Is it still possible to purchase a quality down jacket for under 1, 000 yuan? Recently, a Jimu News reporter visited Hanchuan, Hubei —hailed as “China’s Famous Apparel Manufacturing City” —and toured workshops of multiple down jacket makers to explore the full production process from raw materials to finished products. According to multiple, manufacturers, high-quality down jackets are not only available for under 1, 000 yuan, but also come in a range of styles.

50家企业忙着生产羽绒服

汉川市紧邻武汉，自2005年起承接汉正街服装产业转移，如今已发展成为全国最大的服装制造加工基地之一。汉川拥有纺织服装企业超6000家，从业人员近20万人，年加工能力近8亿件，全行业年产值近千亿元。这意味着，全国每8件服装中，就有1件产自汉川。

Hanchuan City, adjacent to Wuhan, has undertaken the relocation of the garment industry from Hanzheng Street since 2005 and has now developed into one of China’s largest garment manufacturing and processing bases. The city boasts over 6, 000 textile and garment enterprises, employing nearly 200, 000 people, with an annual processing capacity of nearly 800 million pieces and a total industrial output value of nearly 100 billion yuan. This means that one out of every eight garments in China is produced in Hanchuan.

Located in the Economic and Technological Development Zone of Hanchuan City, the Central China Intelligent Down Garment Industrial Park is bustling with factories and traffic. Built to high standards by Hanchuan City, it is an integrated down garment industrial park covering headquarters R&D, intelligent manufacturing, leisure tourism, brand exhibition, eco-friendly and interactive design.

相关负责人介绍，园区内现在有近50家服装企业在生产羽绒服。在工作人员的引导下，记者走进一家名为尚艺嘉影服饰有限公司的羽绒服生产企业的生产车间，只见偌大的厂房里，数十名工人正在赶制羽绒服。楼上的制版车间里，自动模板机正挥舞着机械手臂，根据程序指令加工一件件羽绒服模板；充绒车间里，羽绒顺着管道均匀输送。裁剪、缝合、充绒、质检……各环节紧密衔接，几分钟的时间内，一件成品羽绒服就经过质检快速下线。

According to relevant personnel, there are currently nearly 50 garment enterprises producing down jackets within the park. Guided by the staff, the reporter entered the production workshop of Shangyi Jiaying Apparel Co., Ltd., a down jacket manufacturer. The spacious workshop was filled with dozens of workers rushing to produce down jackets. In the pattern-making workshop upstairs, automatic template machines moved their mechanical arms, processing down jacket patterns according to programmed instructions. In the down-filling workshop, down was evenly transported along the ducts. Cutting, sewing, down filling, quality inspection----each step is tightly connected. Within minutes, a finished down jacket passed quality inspection and rolled off the production line.

另一家名为欣尚品服饰的服装生产企业，刚刚完成了一个8万件羽绒服的订单，现在工人们都放假了。“休息三天，回来又得赶下一拨订单。”企业负责人许文静介绍，刚完成的这笔订单，120名工人做了两个月才完成。而如果“马力全开”，这家企业每天能生产羽绒服4500件。

Another garment manufacturing enterprise, Xinshangpin Apparel, has just completed an order for 80, 000 down jackets, and their workers are now on leave. “We’ll take three days off and then get back to fulfilling the next batch of orders, ”  noted Xu Wenjing, the company’s general manager. She explained that the recently finished order took 120 workers two months to complete. Operating at full capacity, the company can produce 4, 500 down jackets per day.

在湖北天励服饰有限公司15000平方米的生产车间内，同样是一幅忙碌景象，生产流水线有序运转。“120秒可以制作出一件羽绒服。”公司负责人介绍，作为一家集研发设计、生产销售、对外贸易于一体的科技型企业，天励服饰主打男装羽绒服，年出货量可达300万件。

Inside the 15, 000-square-meter production workshop of Hubei Tianli Apparel Co., Ltd., the scene is equally bustling, with the production lines running in an orderly manner. “A down jacket rolls off the production line in just 120 seconds.” the company’s head explained. As a technology-driven enterprise integrating R&D, production, sales, and foreign trade, Tianli Apparel focuses on men’s down jackets, with an annual shipment volume reaching 3 million pieces.

智能制造“织”出性价比

Intelligent Manufacturing “Weaves” Cost-Effectiveness

传统印象中，服装生产是劳动密集型产业，但在汉川，智能制造正成为提质增效的关键。在尚伊霏洋服饰的车间，数十台自动模板机挥舞机械臂，按照程序精准加工羽绒服裁片。电子显示屏实时显示每件羽绒服的工时、产量、返修率等数据。不到2分钟，一件成品羽绒服便快速下线。

Traditionally, garment production is seen as a labor-intensive industry. However, in Hanchuan, smart manufacturing is becoming key to improving quality and efficiency. In the workshop of Shangyi Feiyang Apparel, dozens of automated template machines swing their robotic arms, precisely processing down jacket fabric pieces according to programmed instructions. An electronic display screen shows real-time data for each down jacket, such as production time, output, and repair rates. In less than two minutes, a finished down jacket rolls off the production line.

“机器换人、设备换芯、生产换代。”汉川市经信局相关负责人介绍，近三年，全市近百家服装企业实施技改扩能，智能化改造后，企业用工减少30%，产量提高20%以上，产品合格率稳定在98%以上。

“Machines have replaced workers, equipments have been upgraded, and the production model has been totally transformed.” According to relevant officials from the Hanchuan Municipal Bureau of Economy and Information Technology, over the past three years, nearly 100 garment enterprises in the city have carried out technical transformation and capacity expansion. Following the intelligent upgrading, these enterprises have cut labor demand by 30%, increased output by more than 20%, and maintained a product qualification rate of over 98%.

在汉川经济技术开发区，五大服装产业园区——“五园一城”集聚了5000余家纺织服装企业，形成了从纺纱、织布、辅料、印染到设计、生产、加工、仓储、电商直播的完整产业链。“汉川服装年加工能力占汉正街批发市场份额的70%。”汉川经济技术开发区相关负责人介绍，“园区所有企业开足马力，一秒可成衣1000件。”

In the Hanchuan Economic and Technological Development Zone, the “Five Parks and One City”—a cluster of five garment industrial parks and one central area—has gathered over 5, 000 textile and apparel enterprises, forming a complete industrial chain spanning from spinning, weaving, accessory supply, printing, and dyeing to design, production, processing, warehousing, and live e-commerce. “The annual processing volume of Hanchuan’s garment industry accounts for 70% of the Hanzheng Street wholesale market, ” said a relevant official from the Hanchuan Economic Development Zone. “When all enterprises in the parks run at full capacity, they can produce 1, 000 garments per second.”

千元以下优质羽绒服选择很多

羽绒服的生产成本主要是什么？从汉川企业的生产环节，就可以一探究竟。

What exactly makes up the production cost of a down jacket? A glimpse into the production links of Hanchuan enterprises reveals the answer.

欣尚品服饰的负责人许文静是仙桃人，在汉川做服装已经有8年了。因为主要是做服装代工，服装的原材料均由委托企业自行采购提供，欣尚品的主要成本是人工工资。许文静介绍，她每个月光发工资就要发500万元。“工人的工资普遍都比较高，大部分工人的月工资都在8000到10000元之间。”

Xu Wenjing, head of Xinshangpin Apparel, is from Xiantao and has been in the garment industry in Hanchuan for 8 years. As a professional garment OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturing) enterprise, Xinshangpin depends on client enterprises to procure and supply raw materials, so its main cost lies in labor wages. Xu Wenjing noted that she disburses 5 million yuan in wages monthly. “Workers’ wages are generally high, with most earning between 8, 000 and 10, 000 yuan a month.”

今年，欣尚品给国内某知名羽绒服品牌代加工了3款羽绒服，充的都是90的鸭绒（绒子含量90%），如今在该品牌的官方旗舰店上，这三款羽绒服的售价在330元-390元之间，销量很好。

This year, Xinshangpin produced three down jacket models for a well-known domestic down jacket brand, all filled with 90% duck down (90% down cluster content). On the brand’s official flagship store, these three jackets are now priced between 330 and 390 yuan and have seen strong sales.

“大品牌的羽绒服，质量肯定是可靠的。”因为是由自己代工的，许文静对这三款羽绒服的质量十分自信。“面料、羽绒在生产前就要检测，出厂时也要出具质检报告。而且，报告上写的是什么面料、含多少绒子，成衣里就必须是这样。”

“Down jackets from major brands are generally reliable in quality,” Xu Wenjing said with full confidence in the three models produced by her enterprise. “Fabrics and down must be tested before production, and a formal quality inspection report must be issued before the products leave the factory. Moreover, what is stated on the report—including the fabric type and down cluster content—must exactly match the specifications of the finished garment.”

业内人士分析，羽绒服的成本中，包括羽绒、面料、配件等原材料占75%左右，而人工、运输、销售等成本则占25%左右，据此分析，欣尚品代工的这三款羽绒服成本约在200多元。

Industry insiders estimate that raw materials such as down, fabrics, and accessories account for approximately 75% of the total cost of down jackets, while labor, transportation, sales, and other costs account for the remaining 25%. Based on this, the production cost of the three OEM down jacket models produced by Xinshangpin is estimated at over 200 yuan per unit.

选择羽绒服很有讲究

那么，在汉川生产的羽绒服，终端售价究竟如何？

So, what are the final retail prices of down jackets produced in Hanchuan?

记者调查发现，汉川服装产业呈现出明显的市场分层：汉川大量企业承接电商平台、批发市场订单，生产基础款羽绒服。这些产品选用合格鸭绒、常规面料，主打保暖实用，出厂价通常在100元-300元之间，通过电商或批发渠道销售，终端售价可控制在500元以下。

A reporter’s investigation found that Hanchuan’s garment industry exhibits distinct market segmentation: a large number of enterprises in Hanchuan fulfill orders from e-commerce platforms and wholesale markets, producing basic down jackets. These products use qualified duck down and regular fabrics, focusing on warmth and practicality. Their ex-factory prices are usually between 100 yuan and 300 yuan, and through e-commerce or wholesale channels, the final retail price can be kept under 500 yuan.

汉川许多规上企业，专注于为国内知名品牌代工或开发自主品牌。它们采用更好的绒子（鹅绒或高含量鸭绒）、功能面料，注重版型设计和工艺细节。这类产品出厂价在300元-600元，品牌加持后市场售价可达800元-1500元。

Many enterprises above designated size in Hanchuan specialize in OEM production for well-known domestic brands or develop their own independent brands. They use higher-quality down (goose down or high down cluster content duck down), functional fabrics, and pay attention to pattern design and craftsmanship details. Such products have factory prices from 300 to 600 yuan, and with brand value addition, their market prices can reach 800 to 1, 500 yuan.

“汉川制造的优势在于完整的产业链和规模化生产，能够有效控制成本。”汉川市服装行业协会相关负责人表示，“同样品质的羽绒服，汉川企业生产比沿海地区成本低15%-20%。”

“The advantage of Hanchuan-made products lies in the complete industrial chain and large-scale production, which can effectively control costs,” said a relevant person in charge of Hanchuan Municipal Garment Industry Association. “For down jackets of the same quality, the production cost of Hanchuan enterprises is 15 to 20 percent lower than that of coastal areas.”

在汉川探访期间，记者也向多位企业负责人请教了选购羽绒服的技巧。

During the visit to Hanchuan, the reporter also consulted with several enterprise heads for tips on selecting down jackets.

看绒子含量，而非仅看“含绒量”。绒子是羽绒中保暖的核心部分，新标更能真实反映羽绒品质，建议选择绒子含量85%以上的产品。

Prioritize down cluster content over mere “down content”. Down clusters are the core part of down that provides warmth. The new national standard for down jackets more accurately reflects down quality, so it is recommended to choose products with a down cluster content of 85% or higher.

蓬松度是关键指标。 蓬松度越高，同样重量羽绒保暖性越好、压缩性越强。

Loft is a key indicator. The higher the loft, the better the warmth retention and compressibility of down of the same weight.

面料与工艺同样重要。面料是否紧密（防止钻绒）、是否有防水防泼处理，车线是否整齐，拉链、扣件等配件质量如何，都是判断做工的依据。

Fabric and craftsmanship are equally important. Indicators of workmanship include fabric density (to prevent down leakage), waterproof and water-repellent properties, neat stitching, and the quality of zippers, fasteners, and other accessories.

鹅绒通常比鸭绒蓬松度略高、气味更小，但高品质鸭绒的保暖性优于低品质鹅绒。不必盲目追求“鹅绒”，而应综合考虑绒子含量、蓬松度等实际参数。

Goose down generally has slightly higher loft and less odor than duck down, but high-quality duck down can surpass low-quality goose down in terms of warmth retention. There is no need to blindly pursue “goose down”; instead, practical parameters such as down cluster content and fill power should be comprehensively considered.
