Last tunnel of Xian-Shiyan High-Speed Railway completed

Photo shows the construction site of the Hujiayuan Tunnel. The final breakthrough was achieved attheHujiayuan Tunnelof the Xian-Shiyan High-Speed Railway onJuly 30, 2025, marking the completion of all 42 tunnels along therailroute after nearly four years of construction. The railway links Shiyan City in Hubei Province and Xi'an, capital of the neighboring Shaanxi Province. It is expected to cut travel time between the two cities to within an hour, and shorten travel time from Wuhan, capital of Hubei Province, to Xi'an to approximately 2.5 hours from 4.5 hours. (Photo: Hubei Daily)
