The 19th Hubei (Wuhan) - Taiwan Week, jointly hosted by the Hubei Provincial People's Government and the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, opened on July 4 in Wuhan, capital city of Hubei Province.
More than1,700 guests including political figures, business groups, grassroots people, youth representatives, as well as experts, scholars and journalists from both sides of the Taiwan Strait participated in the event.
A total of 35 economic and trade cooperation projects worth13.975 billion yuan were signed between Hubei and Taiwan at the opening ceremony, covering variousareasof semiconductors, new materials, information technology, biomedicine, precision manufacturing, cultural tourism, automotive parts, agricultural product processing, and modern service industries.
This year’s Taiwan Week takes Wuhan as the main venue and Yichang, Xiangyang and Huangshi as branch venues. A total of 14 activities, relating to economic and trade cooperation, grassroots exchanges and youth interaction, will be organized during theseven-day event. (en.hubei.gov.cn by Zhang Yawei）
