4月23日,湖北省特色淡水产品(小龙虾、黄鳝)产业链工作推进会在汉召开。会上介绍,为满足广大消费者对小龙虾产品的旺盛需求,让全国人民冬季也能吃上Q弹肉满的小龙虾,目前湖北正在全力创新“四季有虾”模式,小龙虾销售面向“卖全年”升级。

On April 23, a promotional conference for Hubei’s Freshwater Products (Crawfish, Eel) Industry Chain was held in Wuhan. It was revealed that in response to growing demand for crawfish, a nationwide favorite, plans are in the works for a “year-round crawfish” model, which will shift crawfish sales to a “year-round supply” approach, ensuring the delicacy is available during the off-season winter months.


2024年,湖北推广池塘精养、温棚土池等冬虾养殖面积约35万亩,产量突破3万吨。另外,小龙虾研究院联合华中农业大学、长江水产研究所等单位进行“四季有虾”科技创新研发,线上线下培训养殖户3000余户,部分养殖模式将形成湖北省地方标准并在全省不同区域进行推广应用。

In 2024, Hubei expanded its winter crawfish farming area to approximately 350,000 mu (about 23,333 hectares) by leveraging techniques such as intensive pond farming and earthen ponds in insulated sheds, with the production exceeding 30,000 tons. Additionally, the Crawfish Research Institute, in collaboration with Huazhong Agricultural University, the Yangtze River Fisheries Research Institute, and other organizations, is currently engaged in innovation and research works for the “year-round crawfish” initiative. Over 3,000 farmers have been trained both online and offline, and some farming practices are set to formalized as local standards for Hubei Province and eventually replicated province wide.


湖北省农业农村厅、湖北省农业发展中心相关负责人介绍,目前,小龙虾“四季有苗”主要依靠全新的养殖模式提供苗种,工厂化繁育苗种可以作为补充,“我们已初步探索工厂化、池塘精养、早稻虾、温棚土池四种‘冬虾’养殖模式,其中温棚土池可亩产冬虾154.5公斤。”

Relevant officials from the Hubei Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs and the Hubei Agricultural Development Center introduced that the “year-round crawfish seedling supply” primarily depends on new farming practices to provide crawfish seedlings, supplemented by factory-based hatcheries. “So far, we have explored four models for farming ‘winter crawfish’, which are factory-based breeding, intensive pond farming, early rice-crawfish farming, and earthen ponds in insulated sheds. Among these, the earthen pond model in insulated sheds can produce 154.5 kilograms of crawfish during winter per mu”.


现阶段,“四季有虾”经过两年的技术攻关,已初步解决了部分冬虾养殖环节的技术难点,下一步将优化养殖模式、营养和环境。“让全国人民冬季也能吃上Q弹肉满的湖北小龙虾。”“四季有虾”研发小组负责人说。

Two years into the “year-round crawfish” initiative, the project has already made technical breakthroughs in “winter crawfish farming”. Moving forward, efforts will focus on optimizing farming techniques, nutrition, and the environment. “This will allow consumers countrywide to enjoy the classic tender and meaty crawfish Hubei is known for, even in winter”, said the head of the “year-round crawfish” research and development team.


会上还介绍,2024年,湖北小龙虾养殖产量达143.7万吨、同比增长15.6%,综合产值1841亿元、同比增长9.7%。其中,潜江龙虾综合产值已突破870亿元、品牌价值达422.29亿元。

It was further revealed during the meeting that in 2024, Hubei’s crawfish farming production reached a whooping 1.437 million tons, a year-on-year increase of 15.6%, reeling in 184.1 billion yuan in revenue, a year-on-year growth of 9.7%. Adding to these numbers was China’s “capital of crawfish” Qianjiang, which surpassed 87 billion yuan in revenue, and currently boasts a brand value of 42.229 billion yuan.
