The gross domestic product (GDP) of Hubei Province exceeded 1.24 trillion yuan in the first quarter of2024, with a year-on-year increase of 6.1 percent, local authorities said on Thursday.
During the period,the added value of the province’s primary, secondary and tertiary sectors grew by2.8 percent, 6.7 percent and 6.2 percent year on year,respectively.
In the first three months,Hubei's fixed-asset investment went up 5.8 percent year on year. Investment in the transportation industry, water conservancy management and manufacturing industry all registered double-digit growth.
The total retail sales of consumer goods in the province posted a year-on-year growth of 6.5 percent over the same period.
During the period, Hubei’s total import and export volumeadvanced 8.3 percent. Private enterprises witnessed strong performance, taking up a 69.1-percent share of the province's total.
In the first quarter, Hubei’s per capita disposable income notched up 5.5 percent year on year. (en.hubei.gov.cn by Zhang Yawei）
