The 28th World Wetlands Day is celebrated on February 2, 2024, with Wetlands and Human Wellbeing as its theme. Hubei is a large province of wetlands. It has 1,746,900 hectares of wetlands, accounting for 9.4 percent of its total area.Up to now, there have beensix wetlands of international importance, 11 wetlands of national importance and 47 wetlands of provincial importance in the province. Especially, the numbers of wetlands of national importance and wetlands of international importance rank first and second in the country, respectively.
