近日，郑琴收到了一份礼物，数十片汉阳树树叶叠成的一朵花。送花的女中学生说，感谢她倾力守护武汉这棵最有名气的树——544岁的汉阳树。
Recently, Zheng Qin received a gift - a flower made from dozens ofleaves collected from beneath the Hanyang tree. The sender, a middle school student, thanked Zheng for her unwavering guardianship of Wuhan's most famous tree- the 544-year-old Hanyang tree.

2014 年，郑琴的公公李正家退休后，受到汉阳区园林部门的聘请，接替他人成为守树人。守树守了5年，他们一家正式和汉阳树结缘。巡视、浇水、松土、打扫枯枝落叶，郑琴公公的身影总是相伴着汉阳树。一天，圆拱门斜阳中的李正家，被人用相机留下一个背影。 这张照片现在被固定在汉阳树边的围栏上，和古树一起面对游人。2019年，汉阳树在秋风中迎来一身“黄金甲”，却再也没有等到李正家回来。
In 2014, after Zheng Qin's father-in-law, Li Zhengjia, retired, he was hired by the gardening department of Hanyang District as aguardianofthe Hanyang tree. Having devoted 5 years to guarding the tree, their family forged an undeniableconnection with the Hanyangtree. Whether patrolling, watering, loosening the soil, or clearing dead branches and fallen leaves, Zheng's father-in-law was always right by the tree. One day, within the slanting sunbeams at the arched gate, someone captured Li's silhouette oncamera. This photograph is now pinned tothe fence surrounding the tree, welcoming visitors along with this ancient tree. As autumn approached in 2019, the Hanyang tree adorned itself ina golden armor once again, yet it’s guardian, Li, never returned.
热心同事来访，为枯燥的生活增添了温暖 A visit from a colleague adds to Zheng'smundanelife.
郑琴的老公李钢按照父亲的遗愿,开始接力守护汉阳树。半年后,李钢突发脑溢血，他一边在武汉市五医院治疗，一边担忧着汉阳树乏人照顾。2020年9月，郑琴来到汉阳树公园，接替丈夫开始守护汉阳树。
Following his father's wishes, Zheng's husband, Li Gang, took over the responsibility of guarding the tree. Six months later, Li experienced a sudden cerebral hemorrhage. While undergoing treatment at the Fifth Hospital ofWuhan, he constantly worried thatthe treewas unattended. In September 2020, Zheng appearedat the Hanyang treepark, taking over her husband in guardingthe tree.

“不就是一棵树吗？我开始想得简单。”郑琴说，但简单的工作其实并不简单，“比如浇水，一年四季怎么浇水？每次浇多少？都是不同的。”对此，她如数家珍：夏季干燥，早晚浇水2次。浇水时，她会将水龙头举高，让水从高处的树干上慢慢流下来，浸入到根部。
“It's just a tree. I initially thought it would be pretty straightforward.” Zheng said, but simple work is actually not simple,“for examplewatering, how do you water during different seasons?”How much water for each watering? It all depends.” In such matters, Zheng is well informed: during the dry summer, water twice, that is,in the morning and evening. To water, she holdsthe hose high allowing the water to trickle from highon thetree trunk and soak into the roots.

去年8月15日，汉阳树公园北园建成开园，原本411平方米的小院被扩大至5800余平方米，成为江城文化新地标。“看到每天都有很多人来仰望这棵树，我在守护中也体会到了责任和光荣。只要身体允许，我愿意守护汉阳树一辈子。”郑琴说。
On August 15, 2023, thenorthern partof the Hanyang tree park was completed and openedto the public.The 411 square metercourtyard was expanded to a large park covering more than 5,800 square meters, becoming yet anothercultural landmark ofWuhan.“Seeing how many people visit this tree daily, guarding it has given me a sense of responsibility and honor. I will guardthe treeas long as my health allows.”Zheng said.
