“Thank you for having me, let'sallenjoy the third and final show in Wuhan tonight.”Jen postedon social media onMay 2nd. During the May Day holiday, Richie Jen, singer from Taiwan, China, held three concerts in Wuhan, which all sold-out.
“谢谢武汉江夏老家的你们来看我。”5月1日，任贤齐在社交媒体发文，配图江夏区代表探班任贤齐的画面。熟悉任贤齐的歌迷都知道，他的祖籍是武汉江夏区，自1997年首次随父母回老家探亲后，他便把武汉江夏当作自己的故乡。本期“天南海北江夏人”，让我们一起走近这位祖籍是武汉江夏的著名歌手——任贤齐。

4月29日晚，任贤齐“齐迹”武汉演唱会如约上演。随着熟悉的乐曲响起，任贤齐出场，洪山体育馆内瞬间沸腾。《任逍遥》《春天花会开》《对面的女孩看过来》《心太软》……一首首耳熟能详的歌曲，引发全场大合唱。
Richie Jen'sconcert was held onthe night of April 29 in Wuhan as scheduled. As the well-known tunes began to play, Richie Jen's presence immediately sparked enthusiasmin Hongshan Gymnasium. “I am free”, “Flowers bloom in spring”, “Hey girl look this way”,“Heart too soft”... Thesefamiliar songs moved the audience to sing-along with him.
任贤齐说，这场演唱会他等待了三年。3月18日，他在社交平台官宣2023“齐迹·在路上”巡回演唱会信息——4月29日将在武汉举行首场演唱会。他说：“脚步停下回望，转眼过去了三年。很想念歌迷朋友，想念演唱会中跟大家创下的‘齐迹’，无论是初见或是久别重逢，要让‘奇迹在路上’。”
Richie Jen said he had waited three years for thisconcert. On March 18, he released an official announcement on hissocial media stating his first 2023 “Qi Ji——On the Road”concert tour will be held in Wuhan on April 29. He remarked,“Three years have passed, and it still feels like yesterday. I miss you guys, and I miss interactingwith youat the concerts, whether we are meeting for the first time or reuniting. Let's makemiracles happen.”
演唱会信息发布后，门票很快被热情的歌迷们抢购一空。3月23日，任贤齐告诉歌迷朋友们：“别急，加场来了，想念热干面的味道。”于是，首站武汉演唱会在4月29日、30日连开两场后，5月2日还加开了一场。
Following this announcement,tickets were soon sold out. On March 23, Jen told his fans,“Don't worry, an extra showis on the way. I do miss hot dry noodles.”Hence,an additional concert was held on May 2 after two consecutive oneson April 29 and 30.
据了解，2023任贤齐“齐迹·在路上”巡回演唱会将在武汉、北京、南京、沈阳、深圳五个城市轮番上演。任贤齐说，他专门把首站巡演放在了武汉，因为“3年前就已经想好，再起航的首站，一定是这里，我们武汉见！”
The 2023 concert tour will be held in Wuhan, Beijing, Nanjing, Shenyang and Shenzhen. Richie Jen said, he started his tour in Wuhan because“it was a decision I made three years ago. See you in Wuhan”.
“武汉！我回来了！”4月27日10时许，还在湖南的任贤齐发了一条微博“武汉！我来了”。画面中，他拿着印有“武汉”字样和黄鹤楼的签名卡片，为自己即将到来的演唱会预热。当天下午，他就马不停蹄赶到了武汉。当晚7时，任贤齐又发了一条微博，画面中的他双手叉腰，面对排练舞台，期待着暌违三年的演唱会。
“Wuhan! I'm back!” At around 10 o'clock on April 27, Richie Jen, who was in Hunan province, posted on SinaWeibo: “Wuhan! Here I come.” In the post, he was seen holding a signature card with “Wuhan” written on it and the Yellow Crane Tower as a teaser for his upcoming concert. He then rushed to Wuhan that afternoon. At 7 p.m., Jen posted again, this time posing in front of the rehearsal stage with his hands on his hips, looking forward to the concert that was put on hold for three years.
最念念不忘的还是武汉美食
Unforgettable Wuhan delicacies
“荧光棒像东湖的浪花。”看着演唱会现场热情的歌迷，任贤齐动情地说，每次回到家乡武汉最念念不忘的还是美食，“热干面、豆皮，特别是武昌鱼。”
“The glow sticks are like the spray at the East Lake (a breathtaking lake in Wuhan).” Looking at the enthusiastic fans at the concert, Jen became emotional, adding that every time he returns to Wuhan, what he misses most is the local delicacies, like hot dry noodles, doupi and in particular, Wuchang fish.
现场点歌环节，一名粉丝也是京剧票友点了一曲武汉江夏“伶界大王”谭鑫培的代表作《定军山》。说起来，跟同样祖籍是江夏的任贤齐还有一定渊源。
During the session where Jen takes fans' requests, a Peking opera fan requested the masterpiece Dingjun Hillby Tan Xinpei, the “Best-Known Peking-Opera Performer”, who's also from Wuhan's Jiangxia District.
演唱会现场，任贤齐请歌迷观看一个特别的视频——武汉江夏区形象宣传片。熟悉他的歌迷都知道，任贤齐在很多公开场合都会说自己是武汉人，武汉是他的故乡。任贤齐的父亲任文祥，1932年出生在武汉江夏乌龙泉街土地堂任家湾一个较为殷实的家庭。任家在当地极其重视教育，清末时曾有祖辈官至五品。后来任文祥到台湾定居，因为有文化，当上了小学老师。
At the concert, Jen showed a special video, a publicity video of Wuhan Jiangxia District. Most fans familiar with him have heard him say publicly, on multiple occasions, that Wuhan is his hometown. Jen's father Ren Wenxiang was born in 1932 into a relatively well-off family in Renjiawan, Tuditang, Wulongquan Street, Jiangxia District, Wuhan. Ren's family placed high emphasis on education, and one of their ancestors was even a high-ranking official in the late Qing Dynasty. Later, Ren Wenxiang relocated to Taiwan province of China and became a primary school teacher as he was well-educated.
1966年6月23日，任贤齐出生于中国台湾地区彰化县，家中排行老二。任文祥给他取名“贤齐”，意为“见贤思齐”。
Jen was born on June 23, 1966, in Changhua County, Taiwan province, China，andhe is the second eldest in his family. Ren Wenxiang named him “Xian Qi” （Jen's Chinese name), which means “one should emulate those better than oneself” in Chinese.
1997年5月，凭借一首《心太软》红遍大江南北的任贤齐在父亲的带领下，第一次回到武汉探亲，认祖归宗。当时江夏任家湾的亲友以为任文祥已不在人世，还为他立了牌位，放进了祠堂，直到任文祥带着儿子任贤齐回乡，亲友才知道他还在世上。
In May 1997, Jen, famous for his song “Hearttoo soft”, returned to Wuhan for the first time withhis father to visit his hometown and trace his origins. Previously, Ren's relatives and friends believed that Ren Wenxiang had died, and even set up a tablet in his memorial in the ancestral hall. It was not until Ren returned home with his son Richie Jen that his loved ones realized he was still alive.
当时，刚成名的任贤齐第一次回到江夏时还十分拘谨。因为任贤齐是第一次回老家，堂叔任文金专门做了一桌好菜，任贤齐被辣得满脸通红，却不住地说“好吃！好吃”。
At that time, Jen had just risen to fame and was quite shy when he first returned to Jiangxia. Since it was Jen's first visit, his uncle Ren Wenjin prepared him an array of tasty dishes. Interestingly, though Jen's face turned red from the spicy dishes, he kept saying, “That's so delicious!”
那一次回乡之旅，让任贤齐找到了自己的根。他将那份难舍的家乡情结刻在了骨子里，只要开演唱会，必到的一站就是老家武汉。
This trip helped Jen reconnect with his roots. Ever since, his hometown became a part of him, and Wuhan a must-stop on every of his concert tours.
2019年底，任贤齐带着父母回到武汉开演唱会。他趁着演唱会间隙，跟歌迷分享第一次随父母回乡的情景，当时表弟带他体验“麻木”三轮车，“坐完后，感觉整个人麻麻木木的。”任贤齐感叹，武汉这座城市发展太快了，每一次回来都让他惊叹不已。
At the end of 2019, RichieJen returned to Wuhan with his parents for a concert. During the concert's intermission, he shared with the audience his experience from his first visit back home with his parents. At that time, his cousin and he took a pedicab, which in Wuhan dialect is pronounced similar to numb). He said, “after the ride, I felt numb all over”. Jen added he was astounded by the stunning development of Wuhan every time he was back.
关心老家发展热心公益事业
Contributing to Development and Philanthropy Works in His Hometown
“说的还是我们江夏话。”江夏任家湾的老人回想起当年任贤齐父亲任文祥回乡时的情景说。
“He still speaks our Jiangxia dialect.” An elderly in Renjiawan village，Jiangxia district recalled the time Jen's father, Ren Wenxiang, returned to Wuhan.
任贤齐受父亲影响很大，也有着浓厚的家乡情结。他多次回武汉、回江夏，热心于家乡的公益事业。第一次回老家，任贤齐见村里的路泥泞难行，临走时捐资2万元为乡亲修了一条水泥路。如今，任贤齐捐款修的路还在，当年那个小村庄也变成了美丽乡村。水泥路不远处，还修建了武汉至咸宁的城际铁路，村民出行十分方便。
Greatly influenced by his father, RichieJen cared about his hometown deeply.He returned to Wuhan several times, and devoted himself to local philanthropic works.On his first trip back, Jen discovered that the road in his hometown was muddy and rugged.Thus, at his departure, he donated 20,000 yuan to build a cement road in the village.Today, the cement road is still there, and that small village has developed into a beautiful one.Not far from the cement road, an Inter-City Rail Service (from Wuhan to Xianning） has also been constructed, making traveling more convenient for the locals.
2003年，带着对故乡的眷恋，任贤齐和父母冒雨回到江夏，捐款20万元在江夏区图书馆设立“贤齐电子阅览室”，支持家乡教育事业的发展。2007年9月，任贤齐的父母回到江夏土地堂中学，看望受资助的三名贫困学生。
In 2003, Jen and his parents returned, eager to support their beloved hometown. They donated 200,000 yuan to set up a “Xianqi Electronic Reading Room” in the Jiangxia library to support local education. In September 2007, Jen's parents returned to Wuhan Jiangxia District Tuditang Middle School to visit three sponsored students.
2013年2月4日小年，江夏区谭鑫培大戏楼新春演出季精彩揭幕。任贤齐和谭门京剧第七代传人谭正岩同台献唱，还给江夏父老乡亲拜年。当天，任贤齐现场演唱了《心太软》《对面的女孩看过来》《春天花会开》等脍炙人口的成名曲，让大家倍感亲切。在接受采访时，任贤齐连说家乡江夏变化太大了.
On February 4, 2013, also Chinese Xiaonian (usually a week before the lunar New Year), a show was held to celebrate the new year in Jiangxia Tanxinbei Theater. Jen and Tan Zhengyan, the seventh-generation heir of Tanmen Peking Opera, performed a song together and extended their New Year's greetings to the Jiangxia people. He also performed several of his famous songs including “Heart too soft”, “Hey girl look this way”, “Flowers bloom in spring”among others, all nostalgic and familiar songs. In an interview,Jen repeatedly stated how amazed he was at the great changes in his hometown.
3年前，武汉面临艰难时刻，任贤齐是第一批捐款的演艺人员。他积极筹集医疗物资、支持家乡抗疫，还录制视频喊出“武汉加油，湖北加油。”
Three years ago, as Wuhan was facing grave challenges, Jen was among the first group of artiststo donate money. He alsodonated medical supplies to help in his hometown's fight against the pandemic, and even recorded an encouraging video in which he shouted “You can do it Wuhan! Go Hubei!”
今年4月28日，江夏区相关领导来到洪山体育馆，探班任贤齐，并代表江夏父老乡亲预祝他的演唱会取得成功，还赠送给他一本精心制作的画册《你好，小齐》。
On April 28 this year, officials of Jiangxia District came to Hongshan Gymnasium to meet Jen and wish him a successful concert on behalf of the Jiangxia people. In addition, they gifted him a beautiful photo album titled “Hello, Richie Jen”.
江夏古琴协会会长王佳琦则为任贤齐弹奏了一曲《高山流水》，赠送了一把自己精心制作的仲尼古琴。“高山流水遇知音。”王佳琦说，送古琴给任贤齐再适合不过了。收到古琴的任贤齐十分高兴，邀请王佳琦一起合影。任贤齐说，有时间一定会常回江夏走走看看。
Wang Jiaqi, president of Jiangxia Guqin Association, played a song “Loftymountains and flowing water” for Jen and gifted him a Guqin (Chinese seven-stringed zither） he had made himself. The song resembles a classical allusion from the story of Bo Ya, an adept in playing the guqin. According to the legend, when Zhong Ziqi heard Bo Ya play, he could tell whatthe latter'sintentions were. Wang said, “Nothing is more appropriate as a gift than guqin.” Jen was delighted and invited Wang for a photo. Headded he would surely return to Jiangxia when he has the chance.
