“着火了，快救人啊！”3月13日凌晨3时许，一阵呼天喊地的求救声，响彻在通山县燕厦乡北冲村的夜空。通山县公安局燕厦派出所驻村辅警舒诚树在接到救火指令后，迅速穿衣起床，携带灭火设备，第一时间骑车赶往现场救援。
At about three in the morning on March 13th, “The house is on fire!”and “Help!”echoed and a loud cry for help resounded in the night sky in Beichong Village, Yanxia Town, Tongshan County. “要不是阿树的救助，我几个孙子的命都没了！”3月15日，村民舒大娘拉着驻村辅警舒诚树的手，说着千恩万谢的话。
On March 15, Mrs. Shu held the hands of Officer Shu and expressed her heartfelt gratitude, “If not for Shu's rescue, my grandchildren's lives would have been lost!”
辅警舒诚树介绍，当时大火已从一楼蔓延至三楼房顶，房屋的玻璃都已烧碎，三楼的木质房梁早已烧断，不时有屋瓦往下掉落。为阻止火势进一步蔓延，舒诚树又与村民一起用水桶接水救火，并将烧得滚烫的液化气罐搬运至安全位置。

直至当日清晨6时许，在警民的合力救援下，大火最终被成功扑灭，除了舒诚树因为吸入太多浓烟声音沙哑不时咳嗽外，所有人员都平安无恙。

据了解，舒大娘的儿子平时都在外务工，当天她与儿媳妇带着六个孩子在家，因为睡前没有完全熄灭厨房火炉内的柴火而引发大火，当她忙着救火时而忘记了房中的几个孙子。同时，又因为在一楼存放了几千斤的干柴，被引燃后导致发生如此猛烈的火灾。所幸有驻村辅警和村民的及时救助，否则后果不堪设想。
Mrs. Shu's son usually works elsewhere. That day, she and her daughter-in-law stayed at home with six children. The fire started when the firewood in the kitchen stove was not completely extinguished before she went to bed.
