Recently, 60 percent of over20,000 plum trees in the East Lake Plum Garden, Wuhan City,havecome into full bloom,entering theirbest viewing period.
Founded in 1956, the East Lake Plum Garden is one of the four famous plum gardens in China. Covering more than 800 mu (about 533,333 square meters), the garden has been home to more than 340 varieties of plums and20,000 plums trees, becoming a basefor collecting, preserving and displaying the most varieties of plums cultivated in China.
As introduced, manyplum blossomsin the gardenhave been in full bloom at present, and other mid-to-late varieties are expected tobloom before the end of the month. The whole floweringperiodwill last until the beginning of March. (en.hubei.gov.cn by Ruan Xinqi)
